Trader Joe's Vintage

Lots of flavors in this one (birch, anise, wintergreen, ect), Richard and I both really enjoyed it.  We are thinking maybe next time we go to Trader Joe's we should check if they have it and the price comparison and maybe get a 6 pack to enjoy.

Zuberfizz

This one was creamy as advertised, and pretty smooth as well.  I quite enjoyed it.  It could have had a little stronger root beer taste but otherwise I really liked it.

Simpson Spring

This was just another root beer, nothing too exciting.

Bundaberg

Bundaberg is by far the most expensive and strangest root beer we have tried.  It is from Australia, maybe they make root beer a little different.  It didn't really taste like root beer to me.  SO many different little flavors to it, Molasses, Sarsaparilla, Wintergreen, just to name a few.  Lots of flavors, just not one that stands out as all that much like root beer, and the ones that do stand out, I really didn't enjoy all that much.

Johnnie Ryan Delicious Root Beer

This was pretty good, not amazing but good.  I enjoyed it enough I would get it again.  It was smooth and tasted strongly of root beer, not something I can say for quite a few of the ones we have tried.

Sparky's

Sparky's was one of those ones that we tried before and I didn't post about it very quickly so I really didn't know what I thought.  I didn't muck like it, while it doesn't say it has licorice (at least I don't recall it saying that), it has a similar flavor to some of the ones that do have it which I don't enjoy.  That being said Richard enjoyed it a little more then me.

Filbert's Old Time Quality Draft Root Beer

Another so so root beer, it seems the ones that really stand out as great are few and far between.  But when we try them we are happy to have found another one we enjoy.  This certainly isn't on my list of ones to try again.

Thomas Kemper

When it comes to buying a root beer at a regular store, this is probably my favorite that you can get.  It has a nice root beer flavor and is fairly tasty for something you can get just about anywhere.

Buckin Rootbeer

This was not my favorite root beer.  I wouldn't say it was bad, but it wasn't all that great either.  It has quillaia extract in it which I am guessing is the something that gives it a flavor I'm not much a fan of.

Dogs n Suds

 Dog n Suds was just another root beer.  Nothing too exciting.  On the bright side it wasn't bad either.

Kutztown Root Beer

This one has yucca and acacia and a very different flavor.  I don't think I would say I like it, but it is different.  It's a little on the bitter side as well.  I generally like a sweeter root beer I think.  Richard wasn't crazy about it either, he does think it's novel though as it is something different.

Tower Root Beer

So this is maybe my least favorite root beer, at least it's one of two.  Blech.  So flavorless, what good is a root beer without the flavor?  Richard says it's "just another root beer"... yeah another flavorless root beer.

Squamscot

I thought this was pretty much just another root beer.  Richard thinks it was smoother and liked it more.  After hearing his assessment I might agree with him.  It has clove oil in it, we think clove oil might be a good thing.

River City

This was just another root beer, good but nothing special. 

Hippo Size

I liked this one quite a bit.  It has wintergreen in it, I think I like the wintergreen.  Richard on the other hand doesn't much like it.

AJ Stephan's

I thought it was a decent root beer, nothing too exciting.  Richard liked it a bit more then me.  It was pretty good, just not great.

Killebrew

Not one of my favorites, as Richard said "it's alright".  It isn't bitter, but it's certainly not sweet.  I like it okay, but I don't intend to buy it again, at least not on purpose. 

Dang! That's Good

So when you name your Root Beer Dang!  That's good.  It had better be good... and it was.  I loved the butterscotch in this one, it was just a little hint not too overpowering at all.  Richard and I both liked it.  I think for me it's certainly on my I would buy again list. (and I have since posting this, I think it's my favorite so far)

The Original Fireman's Brew

So I know I already posted a blog on this one, but I got it again because we liked it so much before, and well... I still like it.  So far this is up there as one of my favorites!

Bedford's Root Beer

This is by far the worst Root Beer we have tried.  It was like you put a tiny bit in a glass with a bunch of ice cubes and they all melted before you drank it.   And the flavoring wasn't all that great on top of it.  This is most certainly NOT one I want to ever try again.

Margo's Dark

Richard picked this one out, it has so many flavors in it.  He liked it, says it's the Dr. Pepper of Root Beer with all those flavors. I could only have a little taste of it as it has nutmeg in it so drinking to much of it would be a sure way for me to feel pretty sick later.  But I do agree with him.  If I knew I could drink it without getting sick I would certainly try it again.

Sprecher Cream Soda

Okay so I know this isn't a Root Beer, but we got it at the Root Beer store and we're just as big of fans of Cream Soda as Root Beer.  This was decent, nothing spectacular though, certainly not worth paying more this then the Mug Cream Soda in a can that we normally get at the grocery store.

Red Arrow Root Beer

Richard really liked this one, me not so much.  If you like licorice and root beer this might be the root beer for you, however if you don't like licorice I really wouldn't recommend this one.  (Richard liked it so much he got a second one on another visit).

Olde Rhode Island Molasses Root Beer

I'm not really sure why I didn't just write a note or something saying what I thought about these things.  If I remember right this wasn't one of my favorites, but I could be remembering it wrong.  I wish I could remember, I would hate to get it again to try it and remember I really didn't like it.  (Note to self, if you aren't going to keep up on your blog at least write a note so you remember what you thought later, especially if you haven't been sleeping due to a newborn baby)

dougie Dog Root Beer

We were still in our extremely sleep deprived state when we had this (and I wasn't keeping caught up on the blog).  I think I recall liking this and Richard doesn't recall ever having it.  So I'm not really sure what to say.  I think this is one I need to try again, we've found we like the butterscotch ones from other ones we have had, so I'm guessing I'll like it.  Though I think it would be good to remember having tried it.

Bulldog Root Beer

So we got this when we were severely sleep deprived after our little ones arrival and honestly neither of us can recall liking it or not liking it.  Which to me means it was probably just okay.  Nothing special as we don't remember it as being something we wanted to make sure to get again, yet not something that we remembered as being bad either.  So I'm not certain what to say about this other then we tried it, we drank it, and it obviously didn't leave a lasting impression.

Spark's Fresh Draft Root Beer

This was just one of those meh Root Beers for me.  Nothing special but nothing horrible.  Which translates into; get something I liked better or try something new before getting this again.

Dr. Browns Original

Richard and I are a little split on this one.  He says it's the worst one he has tried so far and thinks it was horrible.  I think it was similar to the other ones that just weren't all that special.  It was certainly not very exciting.  It's kind of a bummer that they didn't put some better root beers in the gift package, but I can see why they would put the less desirable stuff in there too.  We look forward to getting some more to try in the future though it might be awhile before the next blog here; we have quite a bit going on right now so I'm not sure when we'll be making it out to the store to get more.

Olde Brooklyn

I'm not sure if it had to do with what I had eaten prior to trying this, but the flavor was really mild.  It wasn't bad, it just wasn't wow either.  If someone bought it for me I would drink it, I'm not sure I would spend the money to get it again myself.

Sprecher Root Beer

Another so so root beer when it comes to root beer flavoring, I didn't find it all that flavorful but it was pretty smooth.  This one had honey in it which gave it a nice texture.  I enjoyed it more then most of the ones we have had so far, even if the root beer flavoring wasn't all that strong the texture made up for it.

capt'n Eli's Root Beer

This was our least favorite we have tried to date.  It wasn't very flavorful and had a bit of a dusty flavor to it.  If it was the only root beer available, I would drink something else. 

The Original Fireman's Brew

This was the other root beer that the gal working there recommended, I can see why she recommended it.  It has a very good root beer flavor, a little stronger then the previous one, and I mean that in a good way.  Very tasty. I would buy another for sure.

Route Beer 66

Not the most exciting root beer ever, it was good but not incredibly flavorful.  I don't know if I would go out of my way to have another one, but if it was all that was available I would certainly drink it. 

Frostie Vanilla Root Beer

This was one of two that we bought outside of the ones that came in the box Richard got for Christmas.  I asked for recommendations and this was one she recommended.  I can see why, it is very tasty.  A little sweet but very good, not so much if you're really looking for root beer flavoring but it is very much like a root beer float, and who doesn't like a root beer float.  Very yummy, I wouldn't mind having more of this one!
